unwanted visitors

You have a couple of unwanted visitors come to stay.

You don’t know how long; it’s not up to you.

They come and go as they please.

They bring out the worst in you.

They suppress the best.

No more smiles, productivity or confidence.

All replaced by shame, guilt and low self-esteem.

They impact your relationships with your family, friends and partner.

You see how uncomfortable and frustrated they make them.

Your uttermost loved ones.

Enhancing the guilt.

The pressure is on you to get rid of them. Quick.

Why have you not got rid of them? Can’t you just tell them to go?

Will they ever leave?

It doesn’t feel like it.

You get some help.

Maybe now they will go.

Still here.

And they’re making themselves at home.

They’re leaving their dishes all over the living room and the kitchen is covered in their rubbish.Β They’re even sleeping in your bed now.

You start to lose hope.

Maybe it’s time to move out.
